Main Areas of Research

A variety of empirical research projects are carried out at the Professorship for Educational Sciences. At the focus lies scientific research based on qualitative methods contributing to the foundations of education and learning theories. Main research topics include the analysis of classroom teaching and interaction, the history of education (especially on the former German Democratic Republic), intercultural learning, and family-education in the local community of Chemnitz.
