The surface of the future

Professor Thomas Lampke in an interview with Oerlikon AG: „Today's materials science and materials technology opens up new possibilities through the intelligent combination of materials and processes;

More functional, more resistant, but also smaller and lighter - the requirements for modern components could not be more contradictory. In his interview with Oerlikon Management AG at the beginning of 2019, Prof Lampke explains how these contradictions can be addressed with new surface technology. He emphasises combinatorial processes to expand the areas of application and application limits of components and extend their service life.
