Materials and Surface Engineering
  • Computer-controlled technological process (pre-treatment, coating, post-treatment)

Traditionally, coatings based on nickel, iron, copper and zinc are deposited at the Chair of Materials and Surface Engineering. A special research focus is the deposition of dispersion layers with micro- and nanoscale particles (TiO2, Al2O3, SiO2, WC, SiC).
The new, modularly designed small electroplating system ensures that constant conditions prevail in the pre-treatment, deposition and post-treatment baths, leading to reproducible and transferable results. From the hardware (bath construction, sensors, measuring devices, etc.) to the software (measuring, controlling, recording) to the operating interface, all components come from a single source (ERO GmbH, Herrnhut). Currently, 3 process baths are available for the production of gal nickel, chem nickel and gal nickel dispersion coatings.
