Textile finishing technology

Rope finishing plant
The modular finishing plant allows the influence of different parameters on the properties of ropes to be investigated. Industrial partners also have the possibility to experiment independently of production conditions.
Structure
  • Coating basin with padder and rope former
  • Microwave dryers
  • Infrared dryers
  • Two retaining stretching units
  • Hot air heating tunnel for heat setting
Parameter
  • Coating of ropes up to 20 mm diameter
  • Throughput speeds from 0.5 m/min to 5 m/min
  • Rope forces up to 30 kN in the hot-air thermofixing tunnel
Extrusion line
The line enables the sheathing of high-strength fibre ropes with thermoplastic extrudates (PP, PE, PB, TPE etc.). The coating is carried out under defined strand loads so that the structural elongation of the material is reduced.
Structure
  • Single-screw extruder with three-stage heating zone
  • Melt flow regulation by means of melt pump
  • Jacketing tool (hose jacketing)
  • Rope feed by means of retaining stretching unit
  • cooling basins
Parameter
  • Coating of ropes with 4-8 mm diameter
  • Process temperatures up to 300 °C
  • Throughput speeds from 0.1 m/min to 14 m/min
  • Cable forces up to 15 kN
Yarn coating plant
AnwendungCoating of yarns and strands
Parameter
  • Throughput speed 0.1 - 5 m/min, adjustable in steps of 0.1 m/min
  • Tensile force: 0 - 30 kN, freely adjustable; a negative run is also possible, with up to 10% differential speed, i.e. yarn sag between the holding and stretching gear.
  • Output furnace: 30 kW, temperatures up to 300 °C
  • Microwave power: up to 3 kW
  • IR dryer output: 16 kW
  • Coating bath volume: 30 l
  • Total length of yarn with fully loaded system: 82 m
