Rope drive test

Rope drive test

Winding test rig
TesterIn-house development
ApplicationTesting of fibre ropes up to 12 mm diameter with rope tensile forces up to 60 kN
Parameter
  • Possibility to vary the rope tensile force during the test
  • Possibility to vary the winding speed
  • Use of different drum geometries possible
An essential property for the use of a fibre rope is its winding suitability. A winding test stand was designed and built at the Chemnitz University of Technology to quantify this. The test stand enables practical testing by alternately winding two rope drums. The rope force can be applied precisely using a mechanism specially developed for the test bench.
Winch test rig
TesterIn-house development
ApplicationTesting of fibre and wire ropes up to 6 mm diameter
Parameter
  • Load up to 3 kN, Lifting height 9 m
  • Possibility to vary the winding speed
  • Camera for documentation (off- and online)
Two different winches can be tested in parallel on the winch test rig designed at the Chemnitz University of Technology. The focus is on multilayer windings
Traction test rig
TesterIn-house development
ApplicationTesting of fibre ropes with 4 - 10 mm diameter
Parameter
  • Pre-tensioning load up to 380 kg, maximum rope force 10 kN
  • Rope longitudinal movement max. 1 m with max. 280 mm/s
  • Setting angle traction sheave less than 90° with tangential maximum 7 mm/s
  • Braking force of traction sheave 10 kN
  • D/d ratios from 12.5 to 40 at dNom = 6 mm (other d and D on request)
  • Free movement control of traction sheave and rope by means of linear units
The objective is to test fibre ropes running on traction sheaves. Both the traction sheave and the rope can be driven..
