Professorship for Applied Geropsychology and Cognition

Applied geropsychology employs psychological knowledge and psychological methods to maintain and enhance the quality of life and productivity of older people. How do you want to live when you are old? How can you contribute to intergenerational solidarity and which support do you wish to rely on? We develop and evaluate interventions and tools to empower and support older people and their social environment in adapting to age-related changes, and to unleash the potential of older people in different areas of society. In particular, we are committed to the development and expansion of geropsychological expertise in the fields of technology and mobility, continuing education and lifelong learning, as well as physical and mental health. The professorship for Applied Geropsychology has been established in the summer term 2016. Since the winterterm 2018/2019 the chair is called Applied Geropsychology and Cognition
