Research focus

In addition to research and teaching topics related to health and clinical psychology in applied geropsychology, the professorship also pursues research activities in engineering psychology. The research focuses on the user- and task-oriented design of technical and socio-technical systems with the aim to actively meet the challenges of demographic change and use it as a developmental opportunity through appropriate innovative technology support in the areas of mobility, work, housing, healthcare, medicine, education, media and communication.


CRC Hybrid Societies
Hybrid Societies: Humans Interacting with Embodied Technologies

Prof. Jahn coordinates the Collaborative Research Centre 1410 “Hybrid Societies” that is funded by the German Research Foundation DFG. The professorship contributes to the CRC 1410 with research project “Spatial Orientation in Telepresence”, with the integrated research training group, and the central administrative project.
