Description
The medium-sized companies of the future use digitalization to meet the growing demand for digital products and services with positive social, ecological, and economic qualities. They leverage their close relationships with consumers in end-customer business, as well as their roles as suppliers and service providers, to design and further develop digital business models and products through human-centered design. Human-centered digitalization gives companies a competitive edge over those that merely meet technical and economic expectations. The challenges are: (1) understanding the shift in values in their environment, (2) learning about approaches to address these changes, (3) integrating these approaches into their strategy and partner networks, and (4) offering suitable products and services.
The Mittelstand-Digital Center "Focus on People" supports medium-sized companies in recognizing the expectations of their users, consumers, and corporate customers, rethinking their product strategy, finding suitable cooperation partners, and trying out and establishing the methods and approaches of human-centered digitalization within their own companies to position themselves sustainably. This is done through five main topics: (1) Human-Centered Innovation and Design, (2) Fairness and Diversity, (3) Wellbeing and Resilience, (4) Digital Sovereignty, and (5) Sustainable Transformation, as well as through "Human-Centered Artificial Intelligence" within the AI Trainer Program.
The Technical University of Chemnitz (TUC) takes on the role of multiplier management and supports companies on the key topic of Fairness and Diversity with extensive practical knowledge, methods, and other offerings such as workshops, webinars, and self-learning opportunities.
