Professional field projects and seminars

The teaching-learning offer "professional field project" and "professional field seminar" is primarily available to students of the bachelor's degree courses in economics, industrial engineering and European studies. Within a six-month project or seminar, students are given the opportunity to apply the knowledge acquired in communication contexts and combine them with job-specific skills. In addition, we aim to provide tangible project experience with the teaching and learning offer. There is a special focus on projects that are carried out in cooperation with partners from industry, services or public institutions.

Currently

  • WS2026/27 Development of an innovation using Design Thinking with Lego Serious Play and Artificial Intelligence
(BS Economics; BS Industrial Engineering; BS European Studies)

In this seminar/project, we will use Design Thinking to develop an innovation (likely in the context of a term paper). The target group will be defined during the seminar. We will also utilize Lego Serious Play and Artificial Intelligence within the Design Thinking framework.

  • SS2026 "Development of a frugal innovation using design thinking with Lego Serious Play or artificial intelligence"
(BS Economics; BS Industrial Engineering; BS European Studies)

In this project/seminar, we will use Design Thinking to develop a frugal innovation for students in the context of dumb phones. Two groups will be formed. One group will work with Lego Serious Play, and the other will use Artificial Intelligence. The approaches and results of the two groups will be compared and compared throughout the seminar. The learning objectives are, on a content level, to learn about and understand frugal innovations and the innovation process in general. On a methodological level, the learning objectives are to learn about and apply the methods of Design Thinking, Lego Serious Play, and Artificial Intelligence in innovation.
