Prof. Dr. Silke Hüsing
Silke Hüsing was born in Unna, Westphalia, in 1967. After completing a commercial apprenticeship in the automotive industry, she studied economics and social sciences at the University of Dortmund from 1988 to 1993, specialising in business administration. This was followed by positions as a research assistant at the universities of Marburg and Augsburg. In 1998, her doctoral thesis at the University of Augsburg was awarded the university prize. In 2005, she obtained her habilitation at this university. During this time, she took part in a lecturer exchange programme with the University of Rennes. Since 2006, Silke Hüsing has been head of the Chair of Business Taxation and Auditing at Chemnitz University of Technology. Her research focuses on behaviour-oriented tax effects and corporate tax planning. She was Dean of her faculty from 2013 to 2016, a member of the University Council of Chemnitz University of Technology from 2016 to 2023, and has been a member of the Executive Board of the Faculty Association for Economics and Social Sciences since 2023. On 1 April 2025, she began her second term as Dean of the Faculty of Economics.
