User Account: Usage and Activation
When you activate your user account, you will receive a user name and set a password. In the process, you also set up multi-factor authentication in the process.
Usually, when accessing protected services of the TU Chemnitz is forwarded to a central login page (Web Trust Centre, WTC) where the access data (user ID, password and, if necessary, a second factor) are requested:

For all access to protected services from outside the campus network, an additional factor (‘one-time password’) is requested in addition to the password. This requires multi-factor authentication to be set up in the IdM portal.
There are three possibilities to create a one-time password (App/hardware/TAN list). Only one, more or all methods can be used. A combination is useful. You will find details on setup on our website for „multi factor authentication“.
