Use

The legal basis for the use of the collections of the University Archives is provided by the Act on Archives of the Free State of Saxony, the Archive Regulations of Chemnitz University of Technology and the announcement of the revised version of the Regulations on university fees and charges of Chemnitz University of Technology dating from August 18,  2016, Annex 3.

According to these regulations, everyone has the right to use the archive records of the University Archives, unless restrictions on use - e.g. data protection regulations or the state of preservation of the archive records - are opposed. An application for use has to be submitted for each use. The approval is valid for one subject and for a period of one year.

Copies may be made from the archive material in the case of appropriate state of preservation and no conflict with legal regulations and concerns. Solely the staff of the archives is entitled to make copies upon request of the user.
