Who Has the Best Reputation in Economics?
Junior Professor Robert Czudaj has once again found himself among the Top 100 Economists Under the Age of 40, according to Handelsblatt
Junior Professor Dr. Robert Czudaj, Chair of the Junior Professorship for Econometrics and Empirical Economics at Chemnitz University of Technology, was once again listed in the Handelsblatt ranking of the 100 top research-focused economists under the age of 40 in German-speaking countries. He first appeared in the rankings in 2017, and this year he has reached 51st place. The ranking is created by the KOF Institute (ETH Zurich) and DICE (University of Dusseldorf), in cooperation with the “German Economic Association”. The ranking is created according to internationally accepted standards for the evaluation of economic research.
For each publication, a researcher is awarded points that are weighted according to the reputation of the journal. This reputation is based on the number of citations and the quality of the citing journals. In total, all research articles were evaluated by all of the participating economists from German-speaking countries. All publications in international journals included in the American Economic Associations’ EconLit database are considered. The Handelsblatt ranking appears in five tables: a ranking of current research performance from the past 5 years, a ranking of overall body of work, an under 40 ranking, a faculty ranking and an institute ranking.
The research interests of Robert Czudaj include Applied Time Series Analysis, Bayesian Econometrics and Financial Markets. Among other things, Czudaj deals with uncertainty and expectations in financial markets, as well as effects of capital flows on the real economy.
