For the Uni at the Starting Line
On September 2nd, 2015, the TU has the chance to recapture the title of “Most Athletic Company” at the Company Run – Late deciders can still register until August 21st
In three weeks it’s that time again: Chemnitz businesses run! On September 2nd, 2015 at 6:30 p.m., the starting gun will fire for the tenth edition of the Chemnitz Company Run. It’s not just about athletic feats; creativity and team spirit are in demand above all else! Interest in the Chemnitz Company Run keeps growing from year to year: The organizers have already recorded more than 5,000 registered individual runners from about 430 companies. The event organizer is the agency “Die Sportmacher”, which incidentally was founded in 2005 by former sports students of the Technische Universität Chemnitz.
The course spans 4.8 kilometers. The route once again goes around the entire Schloßteich. Start and finish is on Brückenstraße with separated start and finish lanes. Like before, the best company runners are recognized in the categories of most creative company, most athletic company, fastest boss, fastest secretary, fastest apprentice, fastest women’s team, fastest men’s team as well as fastest mixed team.
All students, employees, alumni, friends and patrons of the TU Chemnitz are encouraged to seek out fellow runners from their colleagues and friends or family and register with their especially fast, creative, big or simply unique team. Of course they are also welcome to register on their own as well. After the TU won the trophy for “Most Athletic Company” four years in a row from 2008-2011, they were forced to admit defeat in the last three years to the Klinikum Chemnitz. Now the Uni has another chance to recapture the title. Late deciders can still register until August 21st: http://www.firmenlauf-chemnitz.de/alles-zum-lauf/#Firmenlauf-Chemnitz-2015. In order for all Uni-runners to be counted as such, “Technische Universität Chemnitz” should be entered in the registration form as the Institution to be represented.
For the runners of the TU Chemnitz, there will be a “Special” offered at the Future Truck booth next to the RAWEMA Building at the corner of Decathlon/Vapiano. Both before and after the race, free drinks and other offers will be available for all Uni-runners. What’s more, beginning August 17th, sport shirts will be offered in the Uni-Shop at a reduced price of 14.95 euros – while supplies last. Contact the Uni-Shop: Susann Müller, Straße der Nationen 62, Raum 210, Telephone 0371 531-29795, E-Mail unishop@tu-chemnitz.de. In addition, sport shirts can be borrowed. Those interested can contact the University Communications Department via email (event@tu-chemnitz.de).
