50th Faculty’s Birthday in the Live Stream

Ceremonial act of the Faculty of Electrical Engineering and Information Technology will be transmitted as a live video stream on the Internet on 30th May 2015 from 15:00 onwards

The Faculty of Electrical Engineering and Information Technology celebrates its 50th birthday on 30 May 2015 at the TU Chemnitz. Almost 500 guests from industry and business, former and current students, professors and employees have announced their participation. One of the participants is Prof. Dr. Eugen-Georg Woschni, the Founding Dean of the Faculty, who speaks a greeting word.

The celebrations of the faculty begin at 15:00 in the central lecture hall at Reichenhainer Straße 90. After the official welcome word by the TUC Rector Prof. Dr. Arnold van Zyl, Prof. Dr. Jan Mehner, who is the Dean of the Faculty, will talk about the important events from the history and the current functions of the faculty. Prof. Dr. Nam-Trung Nguyen from the Griffith University in Australia, who has studied and received his doctorate in Chemnitz at the Faculty of Electrical Engineering and Information Technology, will give the keynote lecture. Classical music and a show act will frame the event.

All those who are interested, but have no opportunity to visit the event, can follow it live at home on the PC or notebook via the browser video streaming. This all thanks to the support of the University Computer Center and the Construction and Engineering Department. The technical requirements include a web browser with Adobe Flash Plugin as well as speakers or headphones.
