TU Chemnitz scores in the CHE University Ranking 2014

University achieved top rankings in several categories - in terms of living Chemnitz is among the most favorable cities in Germany

The Centre for Higher Education Development (CHE) has investigated more than 300 universities and colleges in its recent university ranking. The results appeared on May 6th, 2014 in the new study guide 2014/15 of the weekly newspaper "Die Zeit". Every year, one third of the whole range of disciplines under the CHE University Ranking that currently comprises 35 subjects is analysed anew. Also this year were evaluated such subjects represented at TU Chemnitz as Economics and Business Administration, Business Administration and Engineering, as well as Computer Science for Business Administration.

TU Chemnitz received particularly good ratings in the course of studies of Economics and Business Administration: Students are very satisfied with its strong international orientation. Moreover, the Management Accounting and Control scores with the amount of raised research funds, ranking in the top group here. Business Administration and Engineering and Computer Science for Business Administration act with respect to great international orientation in midfield, and the students of Computer Science for Business Administration consider a high degree of practical experience in this course of studies.

In addition, Chemnitz is repeatedly attested to one of the cheapest cities with university locations in Germany. The average monthly rental fee in the private rental market for a student in Chemnitz is only 7.20 euros per square meter. The student dormitory fees vary between 159.50 to 249.50 euros depending on the size of the room. What is more, the supply ratio with student accommodation in Chemnitz is about ten percent higher than the national average. The Studentenwerk Chemnitz-Zwickau offers over 2,100 rooms in the student dormitories on Campus of TU Chemnitz.
