Preparing for the examinations at the University Library on Sunday

The University Library extends its opening hours during the examination period – Online-examinations may be done at the University Library – “Reading Garden” invites to linger

The University Library (UL) of Chemnitz University of Technology opens during the examination period for students also on four Sundays (July 17, July 24, July 31 and August 7) from 09:00 am to 07:00 pm. This is an opening in addition to the regular opening hours from Monday to Saturday from 09:00 am to midnight.

However, the information and services desks are not staffed on those four Sundays. This means that users may work in the UL and may also borrow and return media from the collections via the self-issue devices and the return machine, but may not pay charges or making their user data being changed. This is also the case on weekdays from 07:00 pm to midnight and on Saturdays from high noon to midnight. However, in case of questions during those periods, the guard on the ground floor at the main entrance may be contacted.

In addition, students are offered the opportunity to do their written online-examinations at the University Library. To profit from this, a prior registration via email to service@bibliothek.tu-chemnitz.de is required.

Another new feature particularly comfortable in summer times is the “Reading Garden” accessible via the side entrance resp. exit of the central building of the University Library building (right in the neighborhood of the snack and beverage vending machines). However, media supposed to be taken in the Reading Garden has to be borrowed before.
