From 17 to 24 June 2021, the Chair of Measurement and Sensor Technology at Chemnitz University of Technology invites you to the digital international summer school "Programmable Smart Sensors based on Bio-compatible Nanocomposite Materials (NanoSENS)". During the summer school, international experts will provide a overview of materials and sensors and highlight topics from different perspectives, such as biodegradable materials, polymeric and flexible sensors, nanotechnologies, and manufacturing technologies as electrical and mechanical material characterization. "Summer schools offer interesting opportunities for young researchers and students to gain new insights into highly relevant topics. They can exchange ideas with highly recognised experts in the field and gain know-how impulses," says Prof. Dr. Olfa Kanoun, holder of the Professorship of Measurement and Sensor Technology.

The Chair of Measurement and Sensor Technology, which has been active in the field of flexible sensors based on nanocomposites for several years, has successfully developed several sensors, such as mechanical sensors, tactile sensors, electrochemical sensors and nano-energy converters. These sensors can be customized for the applications so that different measuring ranges are covered with high sensitivity. "These sensors form the basis for excellent solutions in the industrial, medical, environmental and automotive sectors", says Kanoun.

The international summer school is supported by the German Academic Exchange Service (DAAD) within the framework of the program "German-Arab Transformation Partnerships" and organized in cooperation with the German Chapter of the IEEE Instrumentation and Measurement Society. The event makes a new contribution to the partnership with the University of Sfax in Tunisia and the "National School of Engineers of Sfax (ENIS)".

Members of Chemnitz University of Technology have the opportunity to register via the event website until 17 June 2021. Participation is free of charge for students and staff. A certificate of participation can be issued on request.
