Chair for Central and Eastern European Studies

The chair is dedicated to the study of contemporary developments in Central and Eastern Europe within theoretical approaches such as transformation, Europeanization, sites of memory and the like. It focuses both on the progress of young democracies and on current discourses in the spheres of culture, history, and politics. The analysis of exogenous influences and endogenous traditions is implemented with research tools from social sciences and cultural studies.
