Requirements: Bachelor degree in Computer Science or Applied Computer Science; German Language Examination for University Entrance (DSH) or equivalent for applicants from abroad. No admission restrictions!
Standard period of study : 4 terms
Degree: Master of Science (M.Sc.)
Starting of the course: usually winter term
Deadlines: All deadlines for applications are defined by Technische Universität Chemnitz.

Information regarding application for admission to studies

The application is made online.


This degree program focusses on application-oriented areas like computer graphics, distributed systems, multimedia and artificial intelligence. This shall provide the basics for the employment in research and development of application systems in computer science which is a growing sector of need for graduates

The degree program is structured by the following areas:

  • Detailed knowledge in computer science
  • Intelligent and multimedia systems
  • Parallel and distributed systems
  • Key competencies


As applications in computer science are nearly required anywhere, there are rarely any areas where graduates in this area are not needed, especially in the following sectors:

  • Modern computer and communication systems
  • Image and video processing
  • Search engines for visual contentsv
  • Simulation of complex architectures and production processes
  • Autonomously acting robots
  • Game programing
  • Tools and methods of software engineering
  • Web Engineering
