Topic

Aim of the project SteigtUM! is the development of an economically and ecologically practical mobility solution for small cities to decrease the level of environmental pollution and congestion as well as to enhance new transport solutions. Together with other partners from industry and science, several small electric vehicles, such as cargo e-bikes that are flexibly and easily usable, will be developed and evaluated within the project. Moreover, a user-friendly and automated rental and charging infrastructure will be developed and implemented. In a large-scale field test in the city of Freiberg, a cost-effective rental service will be established and tested at different locations (e.g., campus, station). The focus of the research group Cognitive and Engineering Psychology will be the human-machine-interaction. Within several user studies, user requirements regarding vehicles and user interfaces (e.g., the smartphone app to book a vehicle) should be identified. Moreover, user experience, behavior and acceptance with regard to the developed vehicles and sharing concepts will be assessed.
