Description
Small and medium-sized enterprises (SME) of the future are using digitization to meet the growing demand for digital products and services with positive social, ecological and economic qualities. To this end, they are activating their close contacts with consumers in the end customer business and as suppliers and service providers in order to design and further develop digital business models and products by means of human-centered design. Human-centered digitization gives companies a competitive advantage over providers who only meet technical and economic expectations. The challenges are thus: (1) to understand the change in values in their business environment and (2) to learn about solutions for addressing this change, which they can then (3) integrate into their strategy and partner network to (4) offer suitable products and services.
The Mittelstand-Digital Innovation Hub "Focus Human“ supports SMEs in recognizing the expectations of their users, consumers and corporate customers, in rethinking their own product strategy, in finding suitable cooperation partners and in trying out and establishing the methods and approaches of human-centered digitization in their own companies in order to position themselves sustainably. This is done with five main topics: (1) Human-centered Innovation and Design, (2) Fairness and Diversity, (3) Wellbeing and Resilience, (4) Digital Sovereignty and (5) Sustainable Transformation as well as through "Human-centered Artificial Intelligence" within the AI-Trainer Program.
The Chemnitz University of Technology (TUC) is responsible for multiplier management and supports companies on the key topic of fairness and diversity in a variety of ways with sound practical knowledge, methods and other offerings such as workshops, webinars, self-study courses.
