Institute of Human Movement Science and Health

The Institute of Sports Science (founded in 2003) was renamed the Institute of Applied Movement Sciences (IfAB) in 2013. History of the Institute

Four specialized professorships and two additional work areas teach and conduct research with well-equipped laboratories. For example, the sports medicine laboratory is available for research and teaching, with, among other things, a high-performance bicycle ergometer, upper arm ergometer and a running band ergometer, as well as ECG, BIA, lactate analysis, a Smart Speed System, a Catapult System and an isokinet. In the CATI laboratory there are facilities for telephone interviews (CATI), online surveys (CAWI), e-mail surveys and postal surveys for social and opinion research. Furthermore, there are several excellently equipped movement science laboratories that allow research and teaching in biomechanical and neurophysiological issues.
