MNT-PRO - Mobile Network Protector: Attack detection and mitigation in 5th and 6th Generation cellular mobile networks
The aim of MNT-PRO is to develop a solution for examining and evaluating the security of 5G and 6G mobile networks and protecting them from interference and attacks. A framework will be designed and implemented that will enable the detection and defence against any attack scenarios. Two attack scenarios are considered:
1) A DDoS attack aimed at disrupting components and services in the network or rendering them unusable. This attack will be recognized and the perpetrator clearly identified and rendered harmless.
2) Jamming attacks, which are the main focus of the Professorship. A detailed examination of the type of attack and effective countermeasures is carried out.
In both cases, existing weak points in the network are found and eliminated before commissioning. MNT-PRO enables the continuous monitoring of the mobile network to ensure its performance, identify anomalies at an early stage and initiate countermeasures before widespread failures occur, ensuring mobile network resilience.
