In the project, missing components for a pipeline to create reliable and trustworthy maps are being investigated. In the future, this can enable further development and integration with products in a European value chain. TU Chemnitz will also integrate its automotive test vehicles into the project. The Chair of Communications Engineering possesses three test vehicles with production and pre-production sensors. This allows for the capture of the traffic environment using production technology of intelligent vehicles, eliminating the need for specialized mapping vehicles worth millions of euros.
From the sensor data, AI procedures are used to detect the relevant mapping elements.
