A semester abroad with Erasmus+

Students can still apply for a semester abroad during the winter term 2017/18 or the summer term 2018 until March 31, 2017

A semester abroad is always an enrichment to one’s own course of studies in many ways. Students studying abroad, aside from additional course-related knowledge, also gain personal experiences and impressions and make new international friends during their stays. With more than 200 partner universities, the Chemnitz University of Technology has a broad network of exchange possibilities in Europe. In the winter term 2016/17 and the summer term 2017, 126 Chemnitz university students benefited from this network and went on a semester abroad with the “Erasmus+”-program.

A semester abroad with Erasmus+ includes many advantages such as waived fees at the guest university, the recognition of credits, financial support and full organizational counselling and much more. For example: free online language courses, intercultural training and specific preparatory meetings are offered for an additional preparation for the semester abroad. “Our students are happy to take advantage of our offerings in order to be thoroughly prepared for their stay”, says Oliver Sachs, coordinator of the Erasmus-program in the International Office (IUZ) at Chemnitz University. Everyone interested can find a great number of experience reports on the International Office’s website, where former exchange students illustrate their experiences and impressions.

Anyone interested in a semester abroad during the winter term 2017/18 or the summer term 2018 with Erasmus+ should contact the International Office as soon as possible. The current application period ends on March 31, 2017.
