In October 2015, the Institute for Print and Media Technology at Technische Universität Chemnitz invites to the sixth International Conference for young scientists "Printing Future Days". The patronage of the Conference has the IARIGAI organization - The International Association of Research Organizations for the Information, Media and Graphic Arts Industries - which also awards a prize to the best presentation of the English-speaking conference. The "Printing Future Days" offer prospective scientists from around the world the opportunity to present their scientific results regarding color- and functional printing as well as to create networks.

Not only young researchers but also recognized senior scientists, experts and business leaders from around the world will meet from 5th to 7th October 2015. The professorship of Digital Printing and Imaging Technology from the Institute for Print and Media Technology at Technische Universität Chemnitz has now opened the call for papers. Authors can submit their Abstracts until 15th March 2015. The conference addresses the following topics in particular:

- Graphic Arts Printing
- Packaging Printing
- Applications (traditional and functional printing)
- Functional Printing
- Materials & functions on formation

In addition to the lectures, an interactive poster session will encourage the exchange of ideas and experiences. Furthermore, in a small exhibition young scientists and students have the chance to gain insights into different areas of industry and establish first contacts to the industry.

"Organizationally, our concept is finalized! Now we come to the first major milestone in the implementation of this unique event and expect more than 50 exciting contributions from the participants," says Prof. Dr. Reinhard Baumann, holder of the professorship Digital Printing and Imaging Technology, and adds: "The Abstracts will run through a review process, where the world`s leading experts in the industry rate the quality of the submissions. In this way we ensure a high level of the conference."

After the successful joint hosting of the "Printing Future Days" with the International Conference of the IARIGAI organization in 2013, this year another highlight is waiting for the participants. Right after the "Printing Future Days", on 8th and 9thOctober, the "Autumn School on Printed Functionalities" takes place. This workshop will be held for the third time and is not only designed for industry representatives but also for those who want to collect either first experience in printed electronics or to those who are already working in this research field. Additionally to numerous interesting lectures on the topic of printed electronics the workshop offers the opportunity to bring own inks, which will be printed in a live demonstration on the second day. "Although in the last workshop no inks were brought, the participants complimented the live demonstrations of the various printing processes available at the professorship Digital Printing and Imaging Technology, because on that day, the Chemnitz scientists took the time to respond directly to all questions," Kalyan Yoti Mitra reported from the organizing team of the workshop.
