Portable wireless sensors in focus

From 31 May to 4 June 2021 the Chair of Measurement and Sensor Technology at Chemnitz University of Technology invites to the online international school on “Sensors for Body Area Networks (BASNet)”

From 31 May to  4 June 2021 the Chair of Measurement and Sensor Technology at Chemnitz University of Technology invites to the online international school on “Sensors for Body Area Networks (BASNet)”.  “A complementary training  is organized to provide the opportunity for young researchers and students to gain new insights into this highly relevant topic, get in contact dem On-march with highly recognized experts on modern topics in the field and to keep in touch with industry trends.”, says Prof. Dr. Olfa Kanoun, holder of the Chair of Measurement and Sensor Technology at Chemnitz University of Technology.

The professorship, which has been active in the field of sensors for body area network for several years, has itself made many contributions in the area of embedded wearable bioimpedance spectroscopy, hand gesture recognition, EMG signal, wireless sensor technology, IoT, flexible and stretchable sensors and energy harvesting. International experts from Chemnitz University of Technology, Dresden University of Technology, University of Granada (Spain), University of Naples Federico II (Italy), Sultan Qaboos University (Oman), City University of Hong Kong, Sikkim Manipal Institute of Technology (India), Edinburgh Napier University (UK), National Engineering School of Tunis (Tunisia) and CorDiFio Health (Switzerland) offer an intensive knowledge transfer for the participants in the field of body area network from different perspectives, such as bio signal processing, sensors and system for wearables and implants, energy harvesting for BAN, communication, sensing and data analytics and security. In addition to technical lectures, practical aspects will be dealt including system prototyping with Arduino and machine learning with MATLAB. During the school, a “Pitch Perfect” competition will take place, where young researchers can describe their project in five minutes. A panel discussion will be also animated by well reputed scientists and professors to discuss the aspect of “Boosting Education in the Digitalization Era”.

The international school is supported by the German Academic Exchange Service (DAAD) as part of the "German-Arab Transformation Partnership" program and organized in cooperation with the German Chapter of the IEEE Instrumentation and Measurement Society. The event supports a significant contribution to the partnership with the Tunisian Digital Research Center of Sfax (CRNS) and the International Private Higher Polytechnic School of Sfax (ESPin).

Members of Chemnitz University of Technology can register until 30 May via the event website of the Chemnitz University of Technology. Participation is free of charge for students of the Chemnitz University of Technology and a participation certificate will be awarded on demand.
