New “Corona Archive” Published

Members of the Chemnitz University of Technology community can preserve their pandemic experiences for posterity in the university archive at Chemnitz University of Technology.

For a good year now, we have been living with a changed situation due to Corona. On March 22, 2020, the first so-called "lockdown" came into effect, with its significant restrictions on public and private life, which also affected the operations of Chemnitz University of Technology.

Documents such as resolutions that trace the development of the pandemic are publicly available and can be researched. However, the situaiton becomes more difficult to research at the subjective level. How do the lockdown and other measures meant to contain the virus affect individuals?

In order to capture this effect, on April 14, 2020, the University Archive at Chemnitz University of Technology called on all members of the university community to send memories, impressions, opinions, and much more related to the Corona crisis to the archive (https://www.tu-chemnitz.de/uni-archiv/). There it will be preserved and made accessible for the future. The University Archives also set up a website for this purpose.

The University Archives would like to follow up on this campaign and is once again calling on all members of the University to support the Archives in documenting this historical event for posterity and to submit their own contributions.

Contributions can be submitted by e-mail to uac@bibliothek.tu-chemnitz.de or via the website. There you will also find information on copyright and licensing.
