Political Systems

The chair “Political Systems” is responsible for the analysis of single countries’ political systems including sub-national levels like the German federal states. In particular, the core institutions, relevant political actors and political processes are under research. In Chemnitz, analyses focus on electoral systems, elections, parties, coalitions and lobby groups. The working area “Political Systems” is interested in both democracies and autocracies, including research of system transformation.
