Political Systems

Researchers at the chair “Political Systems” analyze single countries’ political systems, in particular the German and those of the German Länder. Additionally, political systems are evaluated from a comparative view. Our research focuses especially on electoral systems, elections, parties, coalitions and lobby groups. Methodologically, we apply both quantitative and qualitative methods with a stronger emphasis on quantitative methods. For many of our research areas, we develop, refine and apply formal models.
