Antonio Muñoz Sánchez

Dr. António Muñoz Sánchez is a historian. He received his PhD from the European University Institute in Florence with a dissertation on the support of the German Social Democracy to the Spanish Socialists during the Franco dictatorship and the transition to democracy. He is a research associate at the Instituto de Ciências Sociais of the University of Lisbon and conducts research on German-Iberian relations in the 20th century, focusing on the role of the Federal Republic in the "Europeanization" and democratization of Portugal and Spain. He is the author of several publications, including the book: Von der Franco-Diktatur zur Demokratie. Die Tätigkeit der Friedrich-Ebert-Stiftung in Spanien, Bonn, Dietz 2013.

In the winter semester 2017/18 he is substituting for Prof. Dr. Teresa Pinheiro in the chair of Cultural and Social Change.
