Impressions from the ERASMUS+ Semester

"decided to go to Finland in my 5th semester. Why? Because it's a big adventure to go there, where it can get -20 degrees at times. Sounds tough at first, but the winter here is beautiful. I like the studies in Joensuu very much. On the one hand, this is because of the modern campus. You have the perfect conditions here to study effectively, through cozy quiet spots for self-study or through open and friendly areas for groups. No matter what concern you have, I have so far easily and quickly found a contact person who could help me."

"A great support is my tutor, with whom I am in regular contact and who is also very dedicated to showing me a lot of Joensuu and Finnish culture beyond my studies. As a very active person, I am also very excited about the sports offered at the university and the possibility to rent equipment for free. In addition, there is the super healthy, delicious and cheap food that attracts exchange students to the library building every day. The accommodation is sufficient and clean, my roommates are really great and you can even use the home sauna once a week for free. Otherwise, there are almost daily activities in and around Joensuu, which we students organize ourselves and so you often meet familiar faces, but at the same time you get to know new people quickly."
