Content and Volume
Microfluidic technology is concerned with the transport of liquids and gases on small scales. The Microfluidic Mechanics moves physically on the border line between a continuum and particulate fluids (molecules). The aim of the course is the introduction to the basics of microfluidic technology.
- Selected fundamental concepts and definitions of fluid mechanics
- Capillarity and Interface Effects
- Micro Streaming
None but a rudimentary knowledge of fluid mechanics is recommendable.
The lecture and exercises will be held in every winter semester. The lectures and exercises are organized in:
- Lecture: 2 hours per week in the semester
- Exercise: an hour per week in the semester
The course is passed if students attend to the final oral exam successfully.
