Topics

The joint research activities on a highly relevant aspect of automated driving, address three basic aspects. This includes communication with the surrounding traffic, the interaction between the user and automation and aspects of future driver education. As part of the project, collaborations with Japanese universities (University of Tsukuba, University of Tokyo, Kumamoto University, Keio University and the National Institute of Advanced Industrial Science and Technology) will support scientific activities highlighting the intercultural perspective. The research goals of Chemnitz University of Technology address the question of how cyclists and automated vehicles can interact and cooperate with each other. For this purpose, extensive experimental and qualitative studies will be conducted.
