Wearable Devices

Description

At the research group of cognitive and engineering psychology, wearable devices are used in the research field of traffic psychology as well as engineering psychology. The main focus is on human-machine-interaction and the assessment of the user status from a psychological viewpoint by utilizing smartwatches. Therefore, we developed software applications to gather sensor data and display individual information on the devices.

Application

The wearable devices are used in many ways in research. We investigate possibilities and the potential as digital assistance in an increasing digitalized and automated environment. The devices are suitable for imformation transfer between user and machine/automation as well as assessment of psychological status of the user. From these data, implications are drawn for information requirement, system adaption and context sensitive individual alert messages.
