Submission of papers

We welcome scientific contributions in the form of long papers (6–8 pages) and short papers (4–5 pages), preferably written in English, including all references. We particularly encourage graduates with Bachelor's or Master's degrees to submit papers based on the results of their theses in the field of Virtual and Augmented Reality (VR/AR). Submissions must be uploaded in anonymized form via the designated submission system. All papers will undergo a double-blind peer-review process conducted by the program committee, which will decide on acceptance for publication and presentation at the workshop. Please use the provided template for your submission. Accepted contributions will be published in the digital library of the Gesellschaft für Informatik (GI) under the Creative Commons BY-SA 4.0 license. Please ensure that you hold the necessary rights for all textual and visual materials included in your submission. Upon acceptance, you will be asked to formally grant us the non-exclusive right to publish your paper in the GI digital library. You will retain all rights for further use and dissemination. For additional details, please refer to the GI DL's FAQ.

Submission of posters

Presenting a poster at the GI AR/VR Workshop offers an excellent opportunity to receive constructive feedback on ongoing or unpublished research. Poster presentations will form an integral part of the workshop, featuring dedicated sessions for in-depth, interactive discussions between presenters and attendees. In addition, a fast-forward presentation track will allow authors to briefly introduce their work to the entire audience in a concise oral format. Decisions regarding acceptance will be made by the program committee. Please note that poster submissions will not be published in the GI digital library. To participate, please submit a non-anonymized extended abstract (maximum 2 pages including references) using the following template.

Submission for the doctoral consortium

We invite early-stage PhD students (less than one year) to participate in our doctoral consortium. This unique opportunity offers a supportive environment where you can engage with peers and experts in your field, get feedback, and strengthen your research focus. The doctoral consortium will consist of a 90 minutes session behind closed doors, comprising 10-minute presentations, interactive discussions, and individual consultations. The primary objective of this consortium is to provide participants with the opportunity to receive constructive feedback from experts in the field while also facilitating valuable networking interactions. The program committee will decide on acceptance and can accept up to four candidates. Submissions will not be published in the GI digital library.
Please submit an (un-anonymous) extended abstract (max. 2 pages, incl. references) outlining your research in the following template via email to: vrar2025@cs.tu-chemnitz.de
