Chemnitz University of Technology once again supports refugees in learning German

Course fees in preparation for the German Language Examination for University Admission (DSH) are waived for refugee students

In the winter semester 2022/2023, Chemnitz University of Technology will once again waive the fees for a study preparation German course for refugee students who will take up studies at the TU. In doing so, TU Chemnitz is once again underlining its commitment to supporting students at risk worldwide.

The preparatory DSH intensive course is offered by the International Office in cooperation with the Foreign Language Centre at TU Chemnitz. The participants of the language course are tutored in groups of approximately 15 students over 22 to 24 teaching units in reading, listening, speaking and writing as well as grammar. As a prerequisite for admission to the DSH intensive course, German language skills at level B2 must be proven. In order to also enable refugee students to participate in this course and thus smoothly enroll in German-language degree programs, TU Chemnitz has waived the course fees for refugee students since the summer semester 2022, analogous to the fee for guest auditors. The refugee status must be proven with an appropriate residence permit.
