Partnership with Hanoi Universities (Vietnam)

In March 2019, only hours after President Trump, I visited Hanoi University again discuss in detail the requirements of student exchange with members of the International Office and the English Department. I also attended a DAAD supported workshop on Rural Development and visited Huang Hong University in Viet Tri, not far from Hanoi Airport.

In September 2017, I visited Hanoi University again and discussed in detail the opportunities for exchange with members of the International Office and the English Department. I also had the opportunity to take part in two DAAD supported workshops on Rural Development and on University Governance, especially internationalisation, and met the new head of the DAAD Office in Hanoi.

The buzzing city of Hanoi offers an interesting atmosphere of sounds, tastes and lights.

In 2014, I had the opportunity to visit three very interesting universities in Hanoi and I was impressed by the good students from Hanoi University, Hanoi National University/Foreign Studies and Vietnam Academy of Diplomacy. We would like to expand our/your international perspective and I encourage young scholars from Vietnam to get in touch for further studies at MA and PhD level. Hanoi, the capital of Vietnam, is an exciting city the pictures above catch a glimps of the wonderful mixture of tradition and modernity.

The first time I was in Hanoi (and Ho-Chi-Min-City) I took part in an international delegation of University Rectors in 1999, since I was Vice-President for International Cooperation and Development of TUC then. We met many alumni, who had studies in East germany in the 1970s and 1980s and who were very happy about Bratwurst and Sauerkraut and other German delicacies during numerous meetings and festivities.
