Hauptseminar Praktische Informatik (Seminar Practical Computer Science) SS13

Course overview

The talks in the seminar will deal with the efficient implementation of parallel algorithms on modern computing platforms. In particular, the programming of graphics processing units (GPUs) is a main focus. The talks are based on original literature and can be held either in English or in German.
Experience with parallel programming is desirable for the participation in this course.
The seminar can be used for the following modules:
  • Hauptseminar in the diploma courses;
  • Hauptseminar in the bachelor's courses;
  • Forschungsseminar in the master's courses.

  • Slides from the kick-off meeting for registered participants: PDF.
  • The slides for the talks have to be sent one week prior to the date of the presentation. The slides will be discussed at the consultation one week prior to the presentation.
  • All presentations should be attended.
