Topic:

Windenergy The project "Gesteuertes Laden V2.0" [Managed Charging V2.0] builds on the findings about charging obtained in the pilot study "MINI E Berlin – powered by Vattenfall".

Within the pilot study the concept called "Managed Charging" has been developed by the partners to charge the electric test vehicles especially when renewable energies are available. Its objective is to use electric vehicles' batteries both as energy storage and as virtual power plants.

As the feasibility and practicality of Managed Charging have been tested in the preceding project, it is aim of the new project to further enhance efficiency and effectiveness of the concept. For that purpose, the charging infrastructure will be further developed, vehicles will be converted and charging software will be developed by the consortium. Additionally, incentive systems for users are being designed and evaluated, allowing a better use of the Managed Charging concept.

Focus areas of the chair of Cognitive & Engineering Psychology within the project Gesteuertes Laden V2.0 [Managed Charging V2.0]:

  • Assessment of user demands for selected additional services
  • Evaluation of the additional services during their development
  • Assessment of user demands for the charging infrastructure
  • Evaluation of charging stations during their development
  • Evaluation of the overall system in a field test
