We Establish Sustainable Program to Improve Commitment to Employability (WE-SPICE)

Project Overview

WE-SPICE focuses on networking and knowledge transfer between the partner universities, industrials, and civil society partners to build strategies for knowledge transfer between universities and their socio-economic environment beginning with a critical aspect for improving education of graduates, enhancing staff skills, and strengthening the relationship to industry and civil society actors. Project partners are thereby working together to establish sustainable platforms for networking, scientific communication, and knowledge exchange to realize necessary reforms in the partner country. The project supports the university's openness to its environment by enhanced science communication and presentation of its expertise in joint events with industry and by addressing hot topics related to a green economy and the role of women and civil society in reforms. As part of WE-SPICE, academic staff, and young engineers participate in intensive, high-quality training, including communication skills, ASPICE qualifications, time management, self-motivation, and foreign motivation. In this way, both universities implement sustainable and innovative education reforms as an earned result of networking. Through collaboration with industrial partners directly involved in the project, an extended sustainable network is established that will foster university-society bridges within and beyond the project's duration, contributing to a sustainable strengthening of the healthy development of the society. The project “WE-SPICE” promotes innovative strategies on how science, in general, and the network's disciplines, in particular, can contribute to reforms and processes in the partner country through an exchange, networking, knowledge transfer, and communication with, as well as the participation of, non-university actors and civil society actors.
