InTUCgrate - a project of the Integra program

The InTUCgrate project prepares refugee and international students for entry into the German labour market by teaching them important basics:

  • Improving language skills through pre-vocational language seminars
  • Use of language skills at the "Language Dinner”
  • Improvement of interdisciplinary skills through social commitment and placement in an honorary position with student initiatives and associations/clubs in Chemnitz
  • Promotion of integration and a feeling of belonging

The project promotes the acquisition of important key qualifications, which are particularly important for successful integration into the German labour market. This includes improving German language skills and taking on volunteer activities. In addition, local networking with civil society actors is intended to promote a sense of belonging and integration.

In doing so, the project improves language competence and conversational skills through pre-vocational language seminars. In addition, a regular "Language Dinner" offers participants the opportunity to practice their German skills in exchange with native German speakers and other international students in a pleasant atmosphere.

InTUCgrate is closely connected to the project "Welcome to the TU Chemnitz" of the International Office of the TU Chemnitz and is in close exchange with it to offer refugees optimal support.

Do you want to improve your German skills and don't know how? We can help you!

Together with the initiative kulturcampus, we organize the "Language Dinner" twice a week. At these meetings you have the opportunity to speak German with German and international students - all in a pleasant atmosphere. Sometimes we meet in the Mensa, sometimes in a restaurant or in a museum. We play board games, do sports and just get into conversation. There are no eligibility requirements.
