Jun.-Prof. Dr. Paola D'Orazio

Paola D'Orazio is a Junior Professor of Economics at Chemnitz University of Technology, specializing in climate-related financial risks, green investments, and the role of macroprudential policies in addressing financial instability and promoting sustainable economic practices. She has previously served as a short-term consultant at The World Bank and conducted extensive macroeconomic research at Ruhr University Bochum.
An active contributor to the academic community, Paola is an Associate Editor for both the Eurasian Economic Review and PLOS Sustainability and Transformation. She has also co-led a special issue on energy transition within the context of geopolitical and climate risks in Frontiers in Environmental Economics.
Her research is published in leading journals, including Ecological Economics, Journal of Economic Behavior & Organization, Climate Policy, Nature Scientific Reports, Ecological Indicators, Economic Modeling, and International Economics. Her work addresses pivotal topics such as the role of finance in environmental innovation and the design and impact of climate-related financial policies across G20 and OECD economies.
