Design Your Campus of the Future!

Students should have a say in the digital development of Chemnitz University of Technology – the opportunity will be offered on 15 January 2020 as a part of the TUC #DigitalChangeMaker workshop

How do we want to learn in the future? This question will be answered on 15 January 2020, from 13.30 until 15.30 in the Reichenhainer Straße Lecture Hall Building (Orangerie), Room N001, as a part of the TUC #DigitalChangeMaker workshop. Students from Chemnitz University of Technology are invited to contribute their ideas, thoughts and wishes on how teaching can be shaped at the university via digitisation.

A new format with long-term effects

Follow a lecture from home via the internet, digitally register and unregister for your exams, or participate electronically in elections and study groups: in this workshop, various aspects of digitisation of university teaching will be developed, and various topics will be discussed. The ideas will be not only presented within the workshop and subsequent panel discussion but will also be published on the TUCdigital university blog. In addition, students can contribute suggestions for the digital future of Chemnitz University of Technology in advance, without registering for the workshop, via its OPAL forum. An aim of the project is to develop a student working group on the subject of “digital higher education” at the university, as well as keeping students involved long-term in the design of the digital university.

Become a TUC #DigitalChangeMaker!

The University Forum for Digitalisation, initiated by the State Ministry for Science and the Arts, has created the “Digital Changemaker” student group, so as to include students in the overall transition of teaching to the digital age. Digital higher education aims to make teaching more flexible and individual. Success in your studies can therefore be increased, and the diverse needs of students can be better addressed. Chemnitz University of Technology aims to be a pioneer in the participation of students in this digital transformation.

Digital higher education days

The workshop is a part of “Digital Higher Education Days”, which will take place on 14 and 15 January 2020 at Chemnitz University of Technology. This event will serve to further educate and network participants in the field of digital teaching. The conference provides a platform for students, lecturers and employees of Chemnitz University of Technology to discuss digital innovations in teaching and their overall implementation in everyday teaching. The conference also serves as a starting point for the joint development of a strategy for digital higher education for Chemnitz University of Technology.
