TUConnect Herbst – The Career Opportunities Fair Comes for a Second Round

On November 8th, 2018, between the hours of 10:00 and 16:00, students and alumni can meet with 65 regional and supra-regional employers from different fields

Whether an internship, final paper, or entry into a career, it is important for students during the course of their education to network with the “working world”.  However, it is not so easy to find the right contacts to make this happen.  Which companies are available as potential employers?  Once graduated, which career prospects in the region are available, and which qualifications must I possess?  To bring students and companies closer together, on November 8th, 2018, the TU-Chemnitz Career Service invites all interested parties to the “TUConnect Herbst” Career Opportunities Fair (Beruforientierungsmesse). This fall fair is part of a series of events that students as well as graduates can use to facilitate their jump into professional life. Employers from various fields will be available to greet and inform about final thesis themes, internships, and opportunities to enter their field. Via individual conversations students can get an overview of the desires, requirements, and offerings of the various companies.  Between 10:00 and 16:00, 65 regionally established, as well as national and international companies, will be taking part in the opportunity to get to know potential co-workers. According to Anja Krumbiegel from TU Career Service, “after receiving feedback from students who attended the spring fair, it was very important to also include potential employers of students from the Faculties of Humanities and Behavioural and Social Sciences. We managed to do that, and consequently there is something here for every subject area.”

The career fair will be accompanied by a diverse supporting programme. Graduates of TU-Chemnitz will speak about their personal paths to their dream jobs and give tips to students and alumni who are about to enter the workforce. In information sessions from CRM Partners AG as well as Hays AG, interested parties will hear about the experiences and viewpoints of recruiters regarding application credentials and job interviews. Also, the ever-popular company excursions will be taking place.  Baselabs GmbH and 3D-Micromac AG will be offering all interested parties an exclusive peek behind the scenes. Visitors will also have the possibility to have application photos taken free of charge by a professional photographer, and their application credentials proofed by experts of TU Career Service.    Beyond that, bulletin boards will give information about current job advertisements of the exhibitors.  Entry to TUConnect Herbst is free.
