University Sport brings people together
The „Sächsische Hochschulsportfest“ invites students of all universities of the Free State to the sportive city of Riesa for a joyful competition
The state conference Hochschulsport Sachsen e.V. together with the project team of the University of Cooperative Education Riesa invites all students in Saxony to participate in the university sport event in Riesa on June 16 and 17, 2017. Aside from exciting team challenges in classic disciplines, the “Fun sport day”, the “campus party” and the” Long Night of the Sciences” awaits the participants.
The sport event will be opened on Friday, June 16, at 1 p.m. Mixed volleyball, basketball, soccer, handball, and table tennis are on the agenda and even swimming starting at 2p.m. Everyone participating can compete for the title of “Sächsischer Hochschulmeister”. The Techniker Krankenkasse is hosting a university cup in ergometer rowing. The awarding ceremony will take place at approx. 8.30 p.m.
The “Fun sport day” is on Saturday, June 17, starting at 9.15 a.m. with a special team challenge: the Muggel-Quidditch. Known from the Harry Potter Series as sportive broomstick riding, the sport can now be played on the ground. Furthermore, strength and cardio of the students are tested in the dragon boat competition.
Interested students of the Chemnitz University can apply for their participation in the competitions at the University Sports Office with Kristin Röhr, email firstname.lastname@example.org .
Starting fee is 35 euros for each team and will be covered by the University Sports of the Chemnitz University. Billing will take place after the event. The accommodation including breakfast on the camping site of the BA Riesa campus (7 euros) has to be paid by oneself. A partly sponsoring of the travel costs can be applied for prior to the event at the student council of the Chemnitz University.
Note: The Chemnitz University Campus and Sports event will not take place this year due to the construction site at the new campus plaza. Thus, the participation in the Sächsische Hochschulsportfest in Riesa is a good alternative.
