Information on the One-Time Payment of an Energy Price Allowance for Students

Application for the one-time payment of 200 euros is possible for enrolled students and enrolled doctoral candidates with permanent residence or habitual residence in the Federal Republic of Germany as of 15 March 2023

On December 21, 2022, the federal law on the payment of a one-time energy price allowance for students (EPPSG) came into force. The law provides for the one-time payment of 200 euros to students and doctoral candidates who were enrolled as of the cut-off date of December 1, 2022 and who have their permanent residence or habitual residence in the Federal Republic of Germany.

The application for the payment can be submitted starting from March 15, 2023 via the centrally provided internet portal www.einmalzahlung200.de. To submit the application, a BundID account is required, for which one must register here: https://id.bund.de/de/registration/eID.

With the help of the BundID as well as an access code and a PIN, which are provided to the eligible persons by the Student Services of Chemnitz University of Technology, the application for the payment can be submitted via the aforementioned portal. Eligible students only need the PIN if they do not have another electronic ID, such as the online ID function or eID function of their ID card or their personal ELSTER certificate. Eligible students who are enrolled until March 31, 2023 will receive an e-mail from the Student Services of Chemnitz University of Technology with all relevant information in the next few days. Eligible students who exmatriculated after December 1, 2022 and cannot be reached via their TUC email will be notified by letter.

Students who are eligible to apply but cannot obtain their access code or PIN, or who have not received a letter, can also obtain both in person at Chemnitz University of Technology's Student Services (Böttcher-Bau, Straße der Nationen 62, 09111 Chemnitz) upon presentation of an official photo ID (original passport or ID card).

If you have any questions regarding the provision of access codes or PINs, please contact the staff at Student Services via e-mail at studierendenservice@tu-chemnitz.de or by telephone at +49 371 531-33333.

As the responsible authority in the Free State of Saxony, the Studentenwerk Dresden handles the application processing for students. Anyone with questions can contact einmalzahlung200@studentenwerk-dresden.de.

Additional information on the energy price allowance can be found in the central FAQ on the one-time payment for students and the FAQ of the Federal Ministry of Education and Research (BMBF).
