DSH course

What is DSH?

Admission to a course of study at Chemnitz University of Technology (CUT) requires proof of sufficient German language skills. This proof can be provided by passing the Deutsche Sprachprüfung für den Hochschulzugang (DSH) (German language examination for university admission).

Offered Courses:
Together with the Language Center of CUT, the International Office offers preparatory intensive language courses. The participants of the language courses are taught in groups of approx. 15 students over 20 to 24 teaching units of 45 minutes in reading, listening, speaking, and writing as well as grammar.

For admission to a preparatory German language, course candidates have to provide proof of German language proficiency as well as their letter of admission from TU Chemnitz. The following certificates are accepted: 

  • Goethe Institute min. B2
  • ÖSD-certificate min. B2
  • telc min. B2
  • DSH 1
  • TestDaF-level 3 at all 4 examination parts (12-15 points in total)

DSH Language Course Fees:
The course fee for the preparatory language course amounts to 1,500.00 € per semester. This fee has to be paid in Chemnitz as one sum. The fee includes tuition, books, course materials, and the fee for the DSH exam at the end of the course.
