Current Information

Numerous studies have reported beneficial effects of moderate acute exercise on executive functions, especially in young adults in the area of ​​inhibitory control. However, less is known about the effects of acute moderate activity on working memory as a central sub-component of executive functions. As part of a current study, the effects of moderate acute exercise on working memory and the corresponding hemodynamic activation patterns as well as their development over time post-exercise were examined in a sample of healthy older adults.
